This morning I updated the job list. Although many of the positions require applicants to be at least age 18, a few employment opportunities are listed for teens who are age 16.
Other small businesses may have jobs available, but they do not always advertise. So if you are desperately looking for a job, I recommend that you:
- network by talking to family teachers and friends.
- pound the pavement (walk around the neighborhood and talk to the owners of small businesses such corner markets, hair and nail salons, and barber shops).
- update your resume and give it to store managers or potential employers. If you need help with your resume, email me your name and student ID number at email@example.com and I will help you.
Try not to become discouraged because unemployed and underemployed adults are competing with you for the same jobs. Stay diligent and remember, networking matters.
Good luck! 🙂
